Haiti's worst quake in two centuries hit just south of the capital Port-au-Prince. A volunteer
group has helped IVP set up a clinic and relief project serving hundreds of people in Haiti
near the epicenter of the earthquake. Housing, food, clean water, sanitation, and education
projects have been established through the help of our Haitian partner organizations, and

The earthquake has destroyed much of the already fragile and overburdened infrastructure
in the most densely populated part of the country. A massive and immediate international
response is still needed to provide food, water, shelter, and medical supplies to the people.

The IVP Team has launched into action and we have set up the Haiti Emergency Relief
Program to assist in the relief efforts and rehabilitation of the country. Our staff have plans on
travelling to Haiti to head the distribution team now that the area has been stabilised. We
have made contacts on the ground. Plans are already underway for IVP to set up a volunteer
program to assist the victims and the rebuilding of their communities.
